We Install a Wide Array of Filtration and Softening Solutions
After assessing your water, we can walk you through what we need to address and make personalized recommendations for filtration or softening solutions. Many of our products are backed by lifetime warranties, and we can help service and repair your equipment as needed.
Whole-House Water Filters
A whole-house water filter is a system that treats all the water entering your home, unlike smaller filters that only address a single faucet. Often referred to as "point-of-entry" systems, they connect directly to your home's main water line and filter every drop of water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning. This can provide a comprehensive solution for a variety of water quality concerns. Our whole-home water filters can address many types of common contaminants through a multi-stage process, which should improve the taste, smell, and clarity of your water.
Whole-House PFAS Filters
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, are a group of man-made chemicals often called "forever chemicals" because they do not easily break down. These chemicals have been used in countless industrial and consumer products, from non-stick cookware to firefighting foams, and can contaminate drinking water supplies. Our whole-house PFAS filters directly connect to a home’s main water line and are certified to remove up to 99% of forever chemicals.
Reverse Osmosis Systems
A reverse osmosis system is a water purification technology that can remove many types of contaminants by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane. This process works by applying pressure to unfiltered water, pushing it against the membrane. The membrane has tiny pores that allow only water molecules to pass through, while it blocks larger dissolved solids and impurities. These “point-of-use” systems treat water at only one tap, so they don’t provide a whole-home solution.
Water Softeners
A water softener is designed to reduce hard water, which contains high concentrations of minerals like calcium and magnesium. It works through a process called ion exchange. As hard water enters the system, it flows through a tank filled with tiny, negatively charged resin beads that hold positively charged sodium ions. The calcium and magnesium ions in the water have a stronger positive charge, so the beads attract them, releasing the sodium ions into the water. This swaps the hardness-causing minerals for sodium, which does not cause mineral build-up and other consequences of hard water. If you have hard water, installing a water softener can help protect your plumbing and appliances from scale build-up, improve the efficiency of water heaters, and leave skin and hair feeling softer, among other benefits.
Culligan® ClearLink™ PRO
This wireless accessory eliminates the need to drill a new hole in your countertop for an additional fixture, making it an ideal solution for renters or homeowners who do not want to alter their kitchen's appearance. The system works by installing a control box on your main water line that connects to your under-sink reverse osmosis filter. When you want filtered water, you simply turn on your cold water and press the wireless button. The system then redirects the reverse osmosis-treated water through your existing faucet. When you turn off the water, the system automatically diverts back to unfiltered water, saving filtered water for when you need it most.
Does My Water Need Filtration or Softening?
Sometimes the signs of poor water quality or hard water are obvious and visible, like spots on your dishes or a sulfur smell from the tap. Other times, the issues are invisible, such as the presence of lead, chlorine, or other contaminants that you can only detect through professional water testing. Remember, we offer free water tests, so don’t hesitate to schedule an analysis if you’re not sure what’s in your water.
Your water likely needs filtration and/or softening if you notice any of the following problems:
- Cloudy or discolored water. Water that looks cloudy or has a milky appearance often contains high levels of dissolved solids, such as minerals. Discolored water could indicate rust or sediment from your pipes.
- Unpleasant taste or odor. A rotten egg smell often indicates sulfur or hydrogen sulfide, while a chlorine smell or chemical taste points to an overabundance of disinfectants in your water. A metallic taste can signal high levels of iron, copper, or lead.
- Hard water spots. If you see white, chalky residue on your dishes, glassware, and fixtures after washing, you have hard water. These mineral deposits are a tell-tale sign of high calcium and magnesium content in your water.
- Dry or itchy skin and hair. Hard water prevents soap from lathering and can leave a mineral film on your skin and hair, leading to dryness, irritation, and a feeling of residue after showering.
- Stained sinks and fixtures. Blue-green stains on your porcelain sinks or bathtubs typically come from copper corrosion in your pipes. Reddish-brown or rust-colored stains are a clear sign of high iron content in your water.
- Clogged pipes and low water pressure. Over time, the scale build-up from hard water can narrow your pipes, reduce water flow, and lead to lower water pressure throughout your home.
- Premature appliance failure. The mineral build-up from hard water can damage water-using appliances like your water heater, dishwasher, and washing machine, reducing their efficiency and shortening their lifespan.
